Stuart M. Mann, O.D., M.A., F.C.O.V.D
Dr. Stuart Mann comes to us with a special interest in Children’s vision care and vision therapy for adults and children. A third generation optometrist, Dr. Mann graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry. With his special interest in learning related vision problems, Dr. Mann earned his Masters of Arts in Reading from Notre Dame de Namur University.
Dr. Mann practiced for many years in Northern California. He is board certified in pediatric vision care and vision therapy by the College of Optometrists in Vision Development and has served on the Board of Directors of this organization. He is also glaucoma certified. He has been involved with the local and state optometric association, serving as president of the San Mateo County Optometric Association, president of the Bay Area Optometric Council, and serving on the board of trustees of the California Optometric Association.
In 2010, Dr. Mann came to Southern California to establish the pediatric clinic at the new College of Optometry at Western University of Health Sciences, in Pomona. After an enjoyable three years with WesternU, Dr. Mann decided it was time to return to private practice at Simpson and Mann Optometry. He brings his background in pediatric children’s care, vision therapy, and contact lens care including orthokeratology to the practice along with personalized service for children and adults.
Dr. Mann and his family are thrilled to make Southern California their home. Dr. Mann lives with his wife, Jeanine, who teaches in the College of Health Sciences at Western University of Health Sciences, and his daughter Camille.
Irene Park, OD
Irene Park, OD is an Optometrist serving the Inland Empire at Simpson and Mann Optometry Inc. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Humanities with a minor in Occupational Sciences at the University of Southern California. She then received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Western University College of Optometry where she completed her training working with various patients.
She is state licensed to diagnose and treat ocular diseases and disorders of the visual system including but not limited to traumatic brain injury, low vision, dry eye, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Park trained in Tulsa, Oklahoma serving Veterans with various conditions some that were visually debilitating. She provided low vision examinations to train and help them better use their remaining functional vision and improve their ability to perform and continue their daily activities using various low vision aids.
Dr. Park is passionate about community involvement and patient education to better improve the health and management of her patients. She is proficient at three languages including Korean, Spanish, and English.
Kristen Phifer, OD
Kristen Phifer, OD is a board certified optometrist with therapeutic and glaucoma licensure. She offers an extensive scope of practice including general eye healthcare, fitting contacts lenses, diagnosing, managing and treating various eye conditions and diseases; with a special interest in vision therapy and pediatrics. Dr. Phifer has experience in working with children and adults with learning-related vision problems, tracking and focusing issues, binocular dysfunctions, and visual perceptual deficits.
Her passion for good health and wellness show in the way she carefully listens to her patients in effort to meet their needs. Her upbeat personality and calm demeanor are welcomed by her patients.
Originally from Pasadena, CA, Dr. Phifer received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Loyola Marymount University and her Doctor of Optometry degree grom Western University of Health and Sciences, graduating as a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society.
During her free time, Dr. Phifer enjoys volunteering in underserved communities and is an active tutor and mentor for youth. On her days off, she looks forward to spending time with family, friends, her dog Darla, and traveling.
